Publisher Services Director
Lane Press prints, binds, and mails high-quality magazines for publishers around the country. We’re widely known for our quality and craftsmanship, and we’re looking for dedicated, collaborative, friendly employees to join our team.
We are seeking a Publisher Services Director to own the customer experience in Lane Press’ front-end operations. These operations include scheduling, pre-press, mailing list management, and customer service. Position facilitates the maximization of resources (human and automated) to achieve the optimal customer experience, productivity, schedule adherence, and economic goals of the organization. Shift: Typically 8-5 but fluctuates depending on needs within department. Pay rate: Commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities of our Publisher Services’ staff and optimize our customers’ service experience.
- Maintain a qualified staff. Communicates areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned. Identify the need and opportunities for training among team members.
- Develop key performance indicators for the team; develop and maintain metrics to track progress toward goals.
- Interface with other members of the management team at Lane Press to ensure smooth coordination of scheduling and production.
- Work in concert with balance of management team to optimize the use of technology and automation in the department’s processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, operations management, business management, or related field and 5-7 years operations management experience or a minimum of 10 years progressive operations management experience
- Experience in a production or call center environment
- Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff
- Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Must have the ability to effectively present information, respond, and follow-up on questions and inquiries from customers, other managers, and subordinates
- Strong business acumen

Purchasing Agent
Lane Press prints, binds, and mails high-quality magazines for publishers around the country. We’re widely known for our quality and craftsmanship, and we’re looking for dedicated, collaborative, friendly employees to join our team.
We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to be responsible for inventory materials and non-inventory items except paper; placing and tracking orders, contacting vendors, and meeting with sales representatives. This individual is also responsible for overseeing hazardous waste management and annual compliance reporting. Shift: Typically 8-5 but fluctuates depending on needs within department. Pay rate: Commensurate with experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for monitoring all consignment contracts to ensure that negotiated terms and conditions are respected.
- Confirms daily supplies reorder report to ensure proper stock is maintained and reacts to any product not delivered on or before purchase date.
- Perform physical inventories and reconciliation for inventory items and department counts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain data entry of all purchase orders, receipts, and usages for all inventory and non-inventory items.
- Prepares discount and refund claims, renegotiating as required, and processes purchase order requisitions and contacts vendors for purchase.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or the equivalent
- Prior experience in a purchasing environment, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be well organized, able to prioritize, and be assertive, decisive, diplomatic and professional
- OSHA training in DOT, SDS, GHS Labeling and HAZWOPER is ideal but not required
